Collection and storage of personal data as well as type and purpose of its use

When visiting the website
When you visit our website www.forks.com, the browser used on your terminal device automatically sends information to the server of our website. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file. The following information will be collected without your intervention and stored until automated deletion, as a rule after a period of two weeks.

  • IP address of the requesting computer
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the retrieved file
  • Website from which access is made (referrer URL)
  • Browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer as well as the name of your access provider

The data mentioned is processed by us for the following purposes:

  • Ensuring a smooth connection of the website
  • Ensuring comfortable use of our website
  • Evaluation of system security and stability
  • Clarification of possible fraudulent page access (DoS/DDoS attacks or similar) and
  • for further administrative purposes

Furthermore, the IP address is used for the purpose of so-called “geolocation” (Geo IP location). This is because we want you to receive the information you are looking for on our websites, and in the language that you are most likely to be familiar with. In order to ensure this, we process your IP address when you access a webpage, in order to direct you to the appropriate internet offering of the respective VETTER national company.

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) S. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest is justified by the data collection purposes listed above. As a rule, we will use the collected data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about you. We reserve the right to do so only in the event that this becomes necessary in order to clarify fraudulent page access.

We also use cookies and analysis services when you visit our website (see Cookies and Analysis Tools)

When registering for our newsletter
With the following information we inform you of the contents of our newsletter as well as the registration, dispatch and statistical evaluation procedures and your rights of objection. By subscribing to our newsletter, you declare your consent to receive it and to the procedures described.

Our free newsletter informs you regularly by e-mail about new products and special offers. The data you enter here will only be used to personalise the newsletter and will not be passed on to third parties. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter or revoke your consent at any time by sending an e-mail to infonoSpam@forksnoSpam.com. Your data will be deleted within 1 month after you have stopped receiving the newsletter, provided that there are no legal obligations to retain the data. By sending the data you have entered, you consent to the data processing and confirm our privacy policy.

We have concluded a contract with CleverReach for contract data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using CleverReach.

Data in this context is processed based on Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR.

Content of the Newsletter: We send newsletters, e-mails and other electronic notifications containing advertising information (hereinafter referred to as "newsletters") only with the consent of the recipient or a legal permit. If the contents of the newsletter are specifically described within the scope of registration, these are decisive for the consent of the user. In addition, our newsletters contain information about our services and us.

Double opt-in and logging: Registration for our newsletter is done in a so-called double-opt-in procedure, i.e. after registration you receive an e-mail in which you will be asked to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that nobody can register with unknown e-mail addresses. The registrations for the newsletter are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes the storage of the registration and confirmation time, as well as the IP address. Likewise, the changes in your data stored with the dispatch service provider are logged.

Registration data: In order to register for the newsletter, we need the following mandatory fields:

  • Name and first name for personal address
  • E-mail address for reception
  • Company and location: We are exclusively involved in the B2B business, so we ensure that only corporate customers receive the newsletter.

The dispatch of the newsletter and the performance measurement associated with it are based on the consent of the recipients pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. a, Art. 7 GDPR in conjunction with Section 7 (2) No. 3 of the German Fair Trade Practices Act (UWG), or if consent is not required, on our legitimate interests in direct marketing pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f. GDPR in conjunction with Section 7 (3) UWG.

The registration procedure is recorded based on our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. It is in our interest to provide a user-friendly and secure newsletter system that serves our business interests, meets users' expectations, and allows us to provide evidence of consent.

Cancellation/revocation: You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. You will find a link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter. We may store the removed e-mail addresses for up to three years based on our legitimate interests before deleting them in order to be able to provide evidence of a previously given consent. The processing of this data is limited to the purpose of a possible defence against legal claims. An individual request for deletion is possible at any time, provided that the former existence of consent is confirmed at the same time.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, for example via a link at the end of each newsletter. You are welcome to revoke your consent to the use of your title, surname and first name at any time by sending an e-mail to infonoSpam@forksnoSpam.com.

If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, the data you have provided us with beyond your e-mail address will also be deleted from the distribution list.

When using our contact form
For questions of any kind, we offer you the opportunity of contacting us via a form provided on the website. It is necessary to provide a valid e-mail address so that we know who the request came from and to answer it.

The personal data collected by us for the use of the contact form will be automatically deleted after completion of your request.

Integration of YouTube videos

We have included YouTube videos in our on-line offering, which are stored at http://www.YouTube.com and can be played directly from our website. YouTube is another service from Google. YouTube videos are all included in the "extended privacy mode", which means that no data about the users is transferred to YouTube if they do not play the videos. Only when a user plays the videos will the following data be transmitted. We have no influence on this data transfer.

By visiting the website, YouTube receives information when playing a video that the user has accessed the corresponding sub-page of our on-line service. In addition, further information about the use of this online service (including the user's IP address) is transmitted to a YouTube server in the USA and stored there. This occurs regardless of whether YouTube provides a user account that the user is logged on to or whether there is no user account. If the user is logged in to YouTube, their data will be assigned directly to his account. If a user does not wish their profile to be assigned to YouTube, they must log out before activating the button. YouTube stores the data collected about you as user profiles and uses them for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or tailor-made website design. Such an evaluation is used in particular (even of users not logged in) for the presentation of needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about the user's activities on our on-line offer. The user has the right to object to the creation of these user profiles and must contact YouTube to exercise this right.

Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by YouTube is contained in the Privacy Policy, as well as further information on rights and setting options to protect privacy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy

YouTube also processes your personal data in the USA and has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

The Vimeo server is informed of which of our web pages you have visited. If you are logged in as a member of Vimeo, Vimeo will assign this information to your personal user account. When using the plug-in, e.g. clicking the start button of a video, this information is also assigned to your user account. You can prevent this assignment by logging out of your Vimeo user account before using our website and deleting the corresponding cookies from Vimeo.

The purpose and scope of the data collection, further processing and use of the data by Vimeo and your rights and setting options for the protection of your privacy can be found in Vimeo privacy policy: https://vimeo.com/privacy
